Visit verification

Every visit, verified.

Next Chapter uses Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) on every visit, so families, case managers, and reviewers can trust that care happened exactly as scheduled.

What we record

The six EVV data elements

These are the six details federal and Massachusetts rules require for every visit.

Type of service

Companionship, personal care, homemaking, respite, and other non-medical services, chosen at clock-in.

Who received care

The client is selected for every visit, so each record belongs to one person.

Date of service

Recorded automatically from the caregiver's clock-in.

Location

The phone's location is captured at clock-in and clock-out, only at those two moments.

Who provided care

Each caregiver signs in with a personal account. Logins are never shared.

Start and end time

Exact times are stamped by the system and caregivers cannot back-date them.

How it works

A visit, step by step

  1. 1

Arrive and open the Time Clock

The caregiver signs in on their phone and opens the Time Clock.

  2. 2

    Choose client and service

They select who they're visiting and the service they'll provide, or link a scheduled shift.

  3. 3

    Clock in

The phone asks to share location once. Time and place are recorded.

  4. 4

    Provide care

Visit notes can be added during or after the visit.

  5. 5

    Clock out

Location and end time are recorded again, and the visit is checked automatically.

  6. 6

    Office review

Our care coordinators review every visit. Anything unusual is corrected and documented before approval.

  7. 7

    Timesheets and billing

Only approved, verified visits are paid and billed, so families pay only for care that happened.
